No. Michael's Security installs locally recorded systems — your footage is stored on a DVR or NVR recorder at your property. There are no mandatory monthly fees or subscriptions. Optional cloud storage add-ons are available if you want off-site backup, but they are never required.
Most residential installations are completed in a single day. Commercial systems or larger properties with 12 or more cameras may take two days. Our team handles all wiring, mounting, recorder setup, and a full system walkthrough before we leave — so you are up and running the same day.
Yes. Every system Michael's Security installs includes remote mobile access. Once your cameras are connected to your network, you can view live and recorded footage from your smartphone or tablet from anywhere with an internet connection. We walk you through the app setup at the end of every installation.
4K cameras (also called 8MP) capture roughly twice the resolution of 5MP cameras, delivering sharper detail for identifying faces, license plates, and activity at greater distances. Our Standard and Premium packages use 4K Ultra HD cameras. Our Starter package uses 5-megapixel cameras — still a significant upgrade over standard 1080p cameras and ideal for most residential properties.
Yes. All cameras installed by Michael's Security include built-in infrared (IR) night vision, providing clear black-and-white footage in complete darkness. Our Premium package includes color night vision cameras that use ambient light to produce full-color footage after dark — useful for identifying clothing colors and vehicle details.
